LAPIS LAZULI, CORAL, TURQUOISE AND DIAMOND RING, DONALD CLAFLIN FOR TIFFANY & CO.

Designed as a beetle, the wings set with diamonds, an oval turquoise cabochon forming the head, accented by carved coral, completed by carved lapis lazuli body and band, size 6½, signed Tiffany; circa 1965.

In good condition, with scratches and dents to the mounting commensurate with wear, not noticeable when worn. Mounting inscribed 18k. The diamonds, estimated to weigh a total of approximately 0.50 carat, are approximately H-I color, predominantly VS clarity. The coral is orangy red, with minute natural banding. The turquoise is medium blue, with a very small area of matrix to the side of the stone, with good polish. The lapis lazuli is medium deep slightly violetish blue, very slightly mottled color, with flecks of pyrite. Ring size measures as a size 6½ but fits closer to size 6 due to thickness of the band.
