The cylindrical lipstick holder of bi-coloured basket weave design, measuring approximately 19 x 19 x 76mm, gross weight approximately 33 grams; together with a powder compact of similar design, the opening clip set with brilliant-cut diamonds, opening to reveal a mirror and powder compartment, measuring approximately 78 x 75 x 18mm, gross weight approximately 156 grams.

Condition

Lipstick holder base with maker's initials CB and indistinct Italian mark 750 for 18 carat gold. Compact marked 750 to interior of lid and base, with indistinct maker's marks. Diamonds on lip bright and lively, estimated total diamond weight approximately 0.40 - 0.60 carats. The compact opens and closes securely, but requires some slight manipulation to clip shut. Hinge in good working order. Interior mirror is intact, with indistinct mark and slight denting to the metal frame, one superficial chip to bevelled edge of glass. Enamelled metal powder tray and powder puff intact. Lipstick holder lid fitting securely. The interior of the lipstick holder is of gilt metal with plastic inserts, the lining of the lid occasionally coming loose as the lid is taken off. Each piece with scratches and areas of minor discolouration to surfaces consistent with age, wear and use. Overall both in good condition.
