ENAMEL, CHRYSOPRASE AND DIAMOND CIGARETTE LIGHTER, FRASCAROLO, 1960S

Of cylindrical form, the hinged lid modelled as an owl's head, its eyes set with cabochon chrysoprase, its brow accented with single-cut diamonds, the body applied with blue and white cloisonné enamel feathers, measuring approximately 88 x 38 x 23mm, Italian maker's mark for Frascarolo.  

Plaque on inside of head stamped with FC, Italian maker's mark 347 AL, 750 for 18 carat gold and Made in Italy. Generalised surface wear consistent with age. Some feathers with losses to enamel such as one white feather at the front. Lighter unfilled. Head opens and closes with good tension. Length approximately 80mm, weight approximately 118 grams. Overall good condition.
