EMERALD AND DIAMOND NECKLACE AND PAIR OF EARRINGS, RAVASCO, 1920S

The necklace composed of curved links set with circular- and single-cut diamonds, spaced with cabochon and carved emeralds, supporting a pendant of Indo-Persian inspiration similarly set with circular-cut and cushion-shaped diamonds and carved emeralds, pendant detachable, converting into a brooch, necklace converting into two bracelets, lengths approximately 190mm each; together with a pair of pendent earrings, fitted case.

Sautoir detachable into a pair of bracelets each of approximately 190mm in length, central pendant detachable into a shoulder brooch with two detachable brooch pins, one set with a cabochon emerald, palmette leaf also deatachable to form a brooch of palmette form, with detachable brooch pin to reverse, screw driver deficient, accompanying earring with later post fittings to reverse. All clasp fittings secure. Emeralds; pale to medium green in colour, translucent to opaque in clarity, with characteristic inclusions and surface reaching fissures visible to the eye, reverse of setting of carved emeralds with foliate and floral engraved decoration to setting. Carved emeralds in palmette leaf and earrings of paler colour and translucent clarity, carved emeralds in bracelets/ sautoir chain medium green and opaque clarity. Some of carved emeralds with chips to carved decoration, including the two carved emeralds in suspension to shoulder brooch and three from bracelets. Diamonds bright and lively with mixed colours and clarities, estimated approximately SI-I (included) on average and I-K colour on average. Earrings total diamond weight approximately 5.00-6.00 carats. Pair of bracelets total diamond weight approximately 6.00-8.00 carats. Shoulder brooch total diamond weight approximately 10.00-15.00 carats. Unsigned, fitted case stamped Giacomo Ravasco, case heavily warped and misshapen, no longer closes securely, leather exterior with scuff marks to edges and tearing and losses to leather near hook catch, silk and velvet interior with wear and discolouration through contact with sautoir, interior fitted pad slightly lose to top right.
