Set with mother-of-pearl within a lozenge shaped frame set with rose diamonds and onyx, the guard composed of carved onyx highlighted with rose diamonds, signed G. Fouquet, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.
Condition
Signed G. Fouquet, numbered 16399. French maker's mark G F with whip and arrow for Georges Fouquet. Partial French assay mark for 18 carat gold. Mother-of-pearl probably later added, with good skin and lustre, rosé and green overtones, with some growth marks and cracks. Diamonds bright and lively. Onyx on the keeper chipped. Some scratches to the onyx and the metal consistent with age and wear. Total length approximately 116mm including keeper. Weight approximately 13.9 grams. In good condition, commensurate with age.
