This casket was probably originally a scent box containing bottles: a similar one, from the Gustave de Rothschild, then Robert de Rothschild collection, is included in the exhibition catalogue Complètement piqué. Le fol art de l'écaille à la cour de Naples par A. Kugel, Paris, 2018, cat. 26. Another one was sold at Christie's London, 9 March 2016, lot 162.
