This wall plate presents a fossilised palm leaf, Sabalites SP, Eocene. 50 million years ago, the weather in the South West of Wyoming was comparable to that of present Florida. The region was then a plant and aquatic paradise for many fish, turtles, crocodiles and other aquatic creatures. Amongst the rarer, large and spectacular fossil specimen of extinct plants, palm leaves are highly representative of the primitive and superb flora of the Eocene period.
