Born in California, Don Nice graduated with a BFA from the University of Southern California in 1954, and went on to receive an MFA from Yale University in 1964. He has taught at the Minneapolis School of Art and the School of Visual Arts, New York. Nice is known for his realistic, illustrative style to depict objects with a specimen-like level of precision. His works have featured in many important collections, such as the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Walker Art Center.
