Barry Cohen lived and worked in Greenwich Village, New York and is mostly known for his assemblage and collage skills. Cohen received a BFA from Syracuse University in 1956, and then went on to receive an MFA from Yale University in 1960. The artist held a position teaching at Yale University, Silvermine College of Fine Arts, Connecticut, and the School of Visual Arts, New York. He has had six solo shows at the Allan Stone Gallery, and his work features in many important permanent collections, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and Yale University Art Gallery.
