This work is in good condition overall. There is evidence of wear and handling along the edges and there is a light surface soiling visible throughout. The canvas is buckling slightly and there is a circular outward protrusion with associated black abrasion in the lower left corner. Under very close inspection, three pinpoint brown spot accretions are visible: along the bottom edge 1.5-inches from the right; to the right of the figure’s face; and on the top edge 0.5-inches from the left. Under raking light, stretcher bar impressions are visible. Under Ultraviolet light inspection, two minor spot accretions near the figure’s face level fluoresce lightly, but there is no evidence of restoration.
