The colours in the cataogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is slightly deeper and richer in the original.
This work is in good condition. The sheet is laid on canvas and undulates. There is evidence of frame rubbing in places along the edges and corner tips, with some spots where the sheet has torn slightly and the edges are lifting. The canvas is slack, and close inspection reveals two small networks of cracking with associated tears to the paper; one to the right hand side of the head, towards the centre of the composition and another to the brown pigment towards the centre of the left edge. No restoration is apparent when examined under ultraviolet light. "In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above.
