Condition
The canvas has a very firm relining, the paint surface is slightly dirty, and the varnish is slightly discoloured and dulled. There is some slight evidence of small areas of wear in some of the darks. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals that the painting is largely free of restoration. There is retouching along the lower left and right margins, as well as small areas in the foreground below the still life, in very minor areas scattered through the plumage, and in the foliage in the upper left corner. The painting is in overall good condition.
