10-inch silvered dial signed Chas Frodsham, London, 838, strike/silent lever at XII, the substantial fusee and chain movement with six turned tapered pillars, dead beat escapement with jewelled pallets, maintaining power, high count trains, rack striking on a coiled gong, the backplate signed Chas Frodsham, 84 Strand, No.358, steel flask mercury pendulum, the case with flat top moulded cornice, the glazed trunk door with fluted and scroll-carved sides, the interior with a silvered beat plaque signed Charles Frodsham, Clock Maker to the Queen, the moulded base with a scroll-carved corbel

Condition

Dial in good condition but silvering rather dirty and discoloured. Movement is complete and original throughout, it would just run at time of cataloguing but is very dirty and needs complete service and overhaul. Case in good original condition throughout with a few minor scuffs and marks. With mercury pendulum, winder and case key.
