reserved around the ridged body on the front with a gilt-edged band decorated in white slip with cupids and nymphs at play and on the reverse with a small panel decorated with a putto catching butterflies or shooting an arrow, interrupting a band decorated with stylized foliate scrolls, printed gilt crowned MINTONS globe mark, impressed MINTONS
Condition
Both vases have touch ups to the gilding along the flat upper rim edge, possibly covering wear. The vase illustrated on the left of the print catalogue has the left front corner of the square base previously broken into two pieces and repaired with rivets. There is associated re-gilding to the foot of the base. The other vase has restoration and overspray to the square base, probably covering break/s from over-tightening of the screws.
