The monogram and crest is that of Oswald of Auchincruive, Co. Ayr, for Alexander Haldane Oswald Esq. (1811-1865), M.P for Ayr, who married Lady Maria Louisa Elizabeth Frederica, daughter of William, 1st Earl of Craven and widow of Sir George Frederck Johnstone, 7th Bart. of Westerhall.  The Oswalds had been patrons of Storr since the early 19th century, see for instance a pair of silver-gilt candelabra of 1808 sold Christie's, New York, May 2008, lot 145.
