Macassar ebony, gilt bronze and leather upholstery

EN : The ebony presents with the usual surface scratches, minute dents, minute chips and with some wear to the veneer along the edges, all consistent with age and use. The ebony presents with some craquelures and some cracks, inherent to the aging of this material. The varnish presents with instances of blushing scattered. The set has been previously restored and re-varnished. Most armchairs present with previous seams restorations and with restorations to previous cracks and broken elements mostly concentrated to the backrests and the armrests. The leather seats are dry, worn and discolored apart from one armchair whose leather seat has most likely been replaced at a later date. Half of the armchairs present with some significant scratches scattered. The backrest of one armchair presents with some previous chips to the upper part. The backrest of another armchair presents with two circular chips (one on each side of the backrest). //// FR : L'ébène présente les habituels rayures de surface, petits enfoncements, petits éclats ainsi que de l'usure au placage sur les arêtes, l'ensemble cohérent avec l'âge et l'utilisation. L'ébène présente également des craquelures et des fissures, cohérent avec l'âge du bois. Le vernis présente des traces de blanchiment éparses. La suite de fauteuils a été précédemment restaurée et re-vernie. La plupart des fauteuils présentent des restaurations au niveau des jonctions, des restaurations d'anciennes fissures ainsi que des restaurations d'éléments précédemment cassés, plus particulièrement au niveau des dossiers et des accoudoirs. Le cuir des sièges est asséché, usé et décoloré (sauf un sur un fauteuil dont le siège a probablement été remplacé). La moitié des fauteuils présentent des rayures plus importantes éparses. Le dossier d'un fauteuil présente d'anciens éclats en partie supérieure. Le dossier d'un autre fauteuil présente deux enfoncements/éclats circulaires (un de chaque côté du dossier).
