comprising thirty-two double-faced mainly bone and a few hippopotamus ivory beads, one side carved with Christ, the other with a skull, the four-faced terminal bead carved with Christ, a skull and two faces

Two beads are made of hippopotamus ivory, the others of bone. In overall fairly good condition with surface dirt and wear to the carving consistent with age and handling. The rosary made of various beads form different origins and of different quality. The carving on some beads is more worn than on others. Some beads with vertical hairline fissures consistent with the material.
