Condition
Overall good condition with surface dirt and a some chips along the edges and to the high points consistent with age and handling. His proper left cheekbone has been broken and reattached with two joints slightly visible. A few firing hairline fissures are visible at several places consistent with the technique. The lower base with a few scratches on the surface could be an addition. A sheet of crumpled paper in between the skull and the books with possible losses. The terracotta is a much less orange colour in reality than in the catalogue.
