Condition
Executed on a sheet of cream wove magazine paper, not laid down and attached to a sheet of paper in places along the edges. This sheet is in turn affixed to the overmount with tape along the upper edge. The sheet is slightly timestained and there are some spots of staining to the upper left corner. There are two horizontal flattened folds and some further flattened folds in places and there are some creases visible within the paper surface.This work is in overall fairly good condition.

Georges Sadoul was a writer and a member of the Surrealist Group. While André Breton’s renowned series of collaborative drawings called Cadavre Exquis (Exquisite corpse) in which as many as four artists playfully collaborated on the composition without knowledge of other artists’ contributions, here Sadoul is the artist of the entire drawing. It is a spoof on Breton’s Cadavre Exquis.
