Condition

Superior condition. Appears to retain original paint and seat. Surface wear and rubbing to the painted surface commensurate with age and use. Some losses to the rush seat along the front seat rail. Width: 14 1/4 in.; Depth: 10 1/8 in.

The finials on this chair are identical to those of a chair in Hyland House, part of the Dorothy Whitfield Historical Society in Guilford, Connecticut. The chair has been attributed to a member of the Parmele family of chairmakers. For additional information on the Parmele family, see Robert F.
