  • height 8 1/4 in.
  • 21 cm
probably Vauxhall, of cylindrical form with a grooved strap handle, the upper part with a brown-dipped glaze, sprigged with bust-length portraits of Queen Anne, and a male monarch, probably George I, above a sprigged clockwise scene of a deer hunt, inscribed in script 'William', '1724', 'Brownrigg', the rim with contemporary silver mount unmarked.

Condition

There are two restored rim chips located above the inscribed words Brownrigg and between the bust of Anne and the tree, There is a restored curving crack which begins to the left of the bust of George I and continues through his shoulders to the middle bunch of leaves to the tree to the right.
