Condition
It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. The canvas is not lined.There a few horizontal lines of craquelure towards the men's face, associated with areas of light fluorescence visible under UV light, which does not appear to be related to any retouching. However examination under UV light appears to reveal no evidence of retouching. There are some additional lines of stable craquelure in places, notably towards the left edge. There are a few scattered fly spots. This work is in overall good condition.
