embroidered in couched gold thread with five-clawed dragons in pursuit of flaming pearls amidst clouds and bats, interspersed with the beribboned baijixiang, all against a blue wan-diaper on a yellow satin ground, the altered sleeves decorated with crashing waves and lishui bands
Condition
The sleeves have been shortened as visible on the catalogue photo and there is a 26 by 12cm rectangular section repaired on the back at the bottom end centre of the robe, also visible in the catalogue (additional condition photos are available upon request). The embroidery work is very good otherwise and remains in overall good condition with only a few loose gold thread to the dragons and light expected colour fading.
