There is a restoration outside the mouth rim (showing under UV) probably to conceal a chip or flake to the exterior. Some rubbing to the gilding and some wear to the enamels as visible on the catalogue photo but overall the vase is in good condition considering its massive size and age.

乾隆一朝，景德鎮陶工以釉彩模擬其他材質巧製像生瓷，彰顯是時製瓷技藝之登峰造極，此類器甚得上心，備受親睞。仿青銅者尤受推崇，故燒造樣式頗豐，造型各異。本品仿銅胎，其上描金，以效古銅器嵌金銀絲之裝飾；然又作是時流行之葫蘆造型及粉彩開光裝飾，連結古今，誠為開創之品。北京故宮博物院藏一相近作例，惟尺寸稍大，仿銅釉之呈色略深，刊於《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集：琺瑯彩、粉彩》，香港，1999年，圖版138。 此類仿銅釉瓷器，器型多樣，其上開光內所飾粉彩紋飾亦各不相同；例如一仿銅釉夔龍耳六方壺例，尺寸較小，器身兩側開光內飾山水人物圖並配詩文，售於香港蘇富比1978年11月29日，編號304；倫敦蘇富比售一對相近瓶例，1979年7月10日，編號179；另見一「乾隆」印款轎瓶例，售於香港蘇富比2015年4月7日，編號3123。此外，仍可參一夔龍耳大瓶例，署乾隆年製款，器腹作海棠式開光，內以粉彩繪山水圖，仿銅地上作描金祥雲紋飾，其間穿繪蝙蝠紋、折枝蓮紋及靈芝紋，售於香港蘇富比1982年11月9日，編號300；香港蘇富比曾售一仿灑金銅釉瓶例，亦可資參考，1976年11月29日，編號587。

本品器型、紋飾均富含吉祥寓意，或為婚慶專燒之賀禮。葫蘆，能合陰陽兩性之好，其上又以金彩描繪「蝶戀花」紋，象徵婚姻長久美滿。上園開光內細繪四季花卉：牡丹、菊、荷及山茶；下園開光內精飾孩童嬉戲於山水花石間，表達隨四時變遷，願璧人終能兒孫滿堂，福澤深厚之美好希冀；仍不忘以景示人，融情山水，不忘初心，方得始終。
