In good condition, minor rubbing and flaking, as viewed.

The artist of this painting is not recorded, and shouldn’t be confused with the Isma’il Kashmiri who worked on the Baburnama during Emperor Akbar's reign (1556-1605). The halo and the physical appearance recall a young Shah Jahan (r.1627-58), see a portrait now in the Victoria and Albert Museum, inv. no.IM17-1925 in the Minto Album (published in Robinson 2007, p.148).
