  • 25.5 by 50 by 26cm. 
wood casket with three drawers to front, inlaid throughout with mother-of-pearl, tortoiseshell and bone geometric designs and palmette motifs, ivory borders and knobs, lid slides open to reveal a drawer with three compartments, with engraved mother-of-pearl plaque, possibly a crest, on four short feet

Condition

The reverse and interior of top compartments with remnants of a card adhesive, minor sections of the mother of pearl/tortoiseshell and horn plaques missing, some restored or replaced, sections of ivory border-band also replaced (in some cases with wood or bone), underside with two circular holes, the wood has suffered from woodworm and has recently been fumigated, as viewed.
