This work appears to be in generally good overall condition. There are a small loss by the top of the back central curl and two tiny chips by the tops of the frontal lower right curl and of the back lower left curl. There are minor dust deposits.

"Tuttavia ora faccio tutto con i colori riflessati, i colori sono più sicuri e gli effetti meravigliosi, come ho visto qui però quelli buoni sono americani, sono molto cari, forniscono piccole quantità, tanto che ho creduto bene farli comperare direttamente in Nord America. Vedo che lei è diventato un vero ceramista, lei sa che io di tecnica non so molto, mi interessa di più il fare scultura in ceramica."
Lettera di Lucio Fontana a Pablo Edelstein, Milano, 9 ottobre 1949 "Despite the fact I now do everything with reflective colours, the colours are safer and produce wonderful effects. However, as far as I can see, the good ones are American. They are very expensive, although they provide very little product, so much so that I bought them directly in North America. I see that you have become a real potter. You know that I do not know much about technique, I am more interested in doing ceramic sculpture."
