Condition
It has not been possible to see the work entirely unframed. (i) The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There is some stable paint shrikage in the blue pigment and there is some superficial dust to the canvas. There is some frame rubbing along the extreme edges. (ii) The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There is some frame rubbing along the extreme edges. (iii) The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals no evidence of retouching. There is one spot of paint loss in the yellow pigment towards the upper right corner and some superficial dust to the canvas. There is some frame rubbing along the extreme edges. (iv) The canvas is not lined. Examination under UV light reveals a few spots of retouching in places, notably two spots (approx. 4 cm wide) in the green background towards the centre of the right edge, a few additional vertical lines of retouching to the left part of the upper edge, and a few further smaller dots of retouching in the blue shirt and above the kid's proper right shoulder. There is one spot of paint loss in the yellow pigment to the upper left corner. There is some paint shrinkage in the blue pigment and towards the lower left corner. There is some superficial dust to the canvas and some frame rubbing along the extreme edges. This work is in overall good condition and could benefit from a light clean.
