Condition

The work is in very good condition. There is a thin layer of dust over the surface. Close inspection reveals handling marks to the extreme edges. Further close inspection reveals frayed canvas to the lower right and upper left corner tips where we can slightly see the stretcher thought it. Very close inspection reveals light lifting to the rubber in isolated places. All surface irregularities are in keeping with the artist's choice of medium. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.

Ma peinture a suivi ce chemin: elle s'inscrit, avec tout ce qu'elle a de nouveau je l'espère, dans une tradition. My painting followed a direction: it is part of a tradition, while, I hope, bringing a lot of renewal.
