A Roman Marble Sarcophagus Relief Fragment of a Philosopher, late 3rd Century A.D.
from the right end corner of a strigillated sarcophagus, carved with the figure of a philosopher standing before a curtain (parapetasma) and grasping the folds of his mantle falling from his left shoulder, the side carved in low relief with an unidentifed motif; no restorations.
31 by 27 by 20 cm.
