  • Height 30 cm.
from an anthropoid coffin or coffin board, wearing a striped wig, the finely carved face with full outlined lips and eyes with ancient inlays (belonging?) in bronze and marble, the inlaid eyebrows missing, a mortise under the chin for insertion of the beard, remains of red pigment.

Condition

Note losses around the proper left lower jaw and chin, vertical splits throughout, and minor nicks and abrasions overall. It is unclear whether the ancient inlaid eyes originally belong to the mask or not. The tip of the cosmetic line on the proper left eye is missing. Note that the pupils would have been painted black.
