  • Height 24.2 cm.
from an inner anthropoid coffin, carved  in a fine-grained hardwood, the oval face with outlined  lips deeply rounded at the corners, straight nose, and almond shaped eyes with long eyebrows and slightly flaring cosmetic  lines, the eye inlay composed of blue and white glass with slightly  recessed pupils painted in black, a mortise beneath the chin for insertion of the beard, a tenon above for attachment of the wig.

Condition

As shown. Note losses to neck, vertical splits. Abrasions to nose and upper rims of the eyes. Losses to black paint on the eyes. Losses to glass inlays in both eyes and eyebrows. UV light inspection reveals a small patch of restoration to the paint on the lower lip.
