Condition
The canvas is original. There are scattered lines of craquelure, notably in the sky and in the upper right corner where there is some associated paint loss which could benefit from consolidation. Ultra-violet light reveals some isolated small spots of retouching, notably: a circa 3cm stroke in the sky in the centre of the left edge, one L-shaped 3 by 3cm stroke above the storks to the right, and one very small spot in the sky in the centre of the composition (all of which are patched on the reverse). Overall, the picture is otherwise in good condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
