Condition

The canvas has not been lined. There is a pattern of hairline craquelure throughout, mainly visible in the right hand side of the composition where some minor undulation in the canvas is visible. Some minor frame rubbing is also visible along the top and right framing edges. Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals strokes of cosmetic retouching along the upper and right framing edges, and a small dab in the plant's leaves closer to the right framing edge. Otherwise, the main composition appears to be untouched. This work is in overall good condition and is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame with a nameplate. Colours are somewhat brighter in real life than in the catalogue illustration
