明弘治 黄地青花梔子花盤 《大明弘治年製》款

the shallow rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to an everted rim, freely painted in shaded tones of cobalt reserved on a rich yellow ground, the interior with a slightly recessed medallion enclosing a leafy branch bearing two five-petalled gardenia blooms and a tightly closed bud, encircled on the cavetto by fruiting branches of pomegranate, crab apple, grape and a beribboned lotus bouquet, all between double-line borders, the underside with a continuous scroll of seven large blooming roses borne on a foliate stem, between double lines at the rim and foot, the base left white and inscribed in underglaze blue with a six-character reign mark within double circles

弘治黃地青花之精妙卓絕

此盤造型典雅，傳世雖有近例，惟紋飾及年款相同者，難得如本品精緻。本品飾花果紋，靈活流暢，青花發色柔和，黃釉光潔細膩。黃釉一向較易磨耗脫色，但本品釉面溫潤細密，誠傳世明代御瓷精品。

本品原為大維德爵士雅蓄，後入大維德中國藝術基金會，再經拍賣轉售。當時基金會已收藏四件同款盤例，當中見黃地青花及白地褐彩者，帶弘治或正德年款，然皆不及本品精妙絕倫。此盤曾在蘇富比以高價成交，證明逾半個世紀之前，已有買家慧眼識珠，其價值不言而喻。

中國瓷器甚少以梔子花為飾，幾乎僅見此圖案布局。梔子花清麗脫俗，芳香馥郁，雖無吉祥寓意，然深受古代仕女喜愛。其用途廣泛，如簪於髮間、入茶浸泡，或作妝粉原料。梔子花果實加工後可調出黃色或橘色染料，亦可入藥。

黃地青花及梔子花紋飾均始見於宣德一朝，中有間斷，成化年間復燒。在宣、成兩朝，盤底多素胎無釉，外口沿下長方框內橫書年款。弘治、正德年間，梔子花紋盛極一時，然至嘉靖一朝，僅出數例，此後停燒。Soame Jenyns 著作載有前四朝之例，見《Ming Pottery and Porcelain》，修訂版，倫敦，1988年，圖版102-104，彩圖版H，分別出自大英博物館、Riesco 及大維德爵士收藏。其中 Riesco 弘治年款盤例，原屬 Edward Howard Paget 舊藏，售於香港佳士得2013年11月27日，編號3114。

康蕊君著《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》載錄數件紋樣與本品相類之例，包括弘治、正德及嘉靖黃地青花，另有一弘治青花盤，1994-2010年，卷4，編號1674及卷2，編號683、684及682。香港蘇富比曾售一例，與本品造型相配，先後為李雪曼伉儷及 Reach 家族所藏，售於2011年4月7日，編號57。

大維德爵士收藏一例，與本品成對，現存倫敦大英博物館，圖見畢宗陶，《Designs as Signs: Decoration and Chinese Ceramics》，倫敦，2001年，圖版19，該盤也載於 Margaret Medley，《Illustrated Catalogue of Ming Polychrome Wares》，大維德中國藝術基金會，倫敦，1978年，圖版III，編號26，同書錄有一相類正德年款梔子花紋盤例，編號29，另見弘治及正德年款白地褐彩梔子花紋盤，編號27及28。

台北故宮博物院存數件紋飾與本品相同之盤，屢見於錄，如《故宮藏瓷．明青花瓷》，卷4，香港，1963年，圖版11，並見於該館展覽《明成化瓷器特展》，同場並有宣德及嘉靖例，編號138及141。北京故宮博物院也藏近例，見《故宮博物院藏文物珍品全集．青花釉裏紅（中）》，上海，2000年，圖版231，連成化及正德同款器，圖版230及233。上海博物館藏一例，見陸明華，《上海博物館藏品研究大系：明代官窰瓷器》，上海，2007年，圖版3-71，同書另見一青花作例，圖版3-70。鮑氏收藏也有一例，見 John Ayers，《Chinese Ceramics in the Baur Collection》，日內瓦，1999年，卷1，圖版65，同錄一件白地褐彩例，圖版66。紐約大都會藝術博物館還存一盤，見 Suzanne G. Valenstein，《A Handbook of Chinese Ceramics》，紐約，1989年，圖版152。另可比較同場拍賣之琵金頓伉儷舊藏正德款器，紋飾與本品相同，拍品編號4。

Bluett & Sons 於1968年蘇富比大維德基金會專場拍賣以5,700英鎊購得本品，假若 Frederick Knight 當時沒有以6,500英鎊成功投得同場之瓜瓞紋宮盌（編號97），他會為此品出價5,500英鎊。羅傑琵金頓終以6,555英鎊購下本品。本品當年以極高於成化宮盌的高價拍出，可為其精罕超卓作佐證。
