描述

  • Silk
embroidered with a continuous scene of noblemen hunting in a mountainous terrain, some hunters gathering in a palace on the far left, executed in shades of blue, pale green, violet, and black, all on a cream-colored satin silk ground

來源

Collection of Millicent Rogers (1902-1953), and thence by descent.

Condition

The screen is in overall fair condition with only minor expected darkening to the silk ground (particularly at the edges of the panels and scattered speckles), and very little structural damage (only a few picks, scratches and small tears to the satin, and loose binding at the upper edge of one panel). There is a wormhole in two facing panels (the longest hole is approx. 4 cm). The embroidery retains its vibrant colors and is in good condition, aside from damage to the stitched "wall" at the left. The paper backing on the reverse has some tears, patches, and a large loss at the bottom of one panel.
