《群峰聳翠》乃郎靜山集錦作品中的集大成者，其尺幅雖然精巧，卻氣宇非凡，盡得北宋大山大水之神髓，「三遠」納其中：其於右方仰見崇山，得其高遠，其於前景置入奇石亭台，使觀者如登高遠眺對山，得其平遠；其於左方置入遠景，丘陵交錯，視線一馬平川，層層遠去，至於無盡，得其深遠。畫面透過強反差處理，強化黑白對比，以衝突增添戲劇性。郎氏於本作透過攝影尚友古人，向偉大的北宋大師致敬，亦是自我挑戰，欲以二十世紀的嶄新科技，攀登古代大師曾經征服的藝術巔峰。本作大量運用集錦技巧，使用底片之多，可謂其集錦作品之最，而本作亦是《群峰疊翠》唯一的銀鹽相紙作品，其他俱為數碼輸出；另一幅以相類手法創作的《湖山攬勝》，七〇年代曾經在華人航運業巨擘董浩雲委託下，製作成長達十米的巨型壁畫，陳列於由「伊麗莎白皇后號」改裝成的海上大學；1995年，藝術家又將《湖山攬勝》的另一版本，親自交付台北故宮博物院，並在2015年被台北故宮列為重要古物，《群峰聳翠》與之精神相通，兩者合當互相輝映。
