  • Amber
carved in the form of a lion seated on its hind legs with its front paws grasping a brocade ball attached to flowing ribbons, its head turned to the left with large round eyes framed by bushy brows, the cub clambering on top of its arched back, both detailed with open mouths and finely incised tufts of fur, the amber of a rich variegated reddish-orange colour

Condition

There is a section of the ribbon behind the lion's head which has been restuck. There is a large chip to one foot, and several smaller chips to another, one with associated hairline approx. 1.6 cm long. There are several other chips to the extremities, particularly along the edge of the ribbons.
