臥犬卷尾之玉雕饒有趣味，盛行於宋至清代歷朝；比較一例，出土自上海顧村，元朝朱守城夫婦墓，錄於《上海出土唐宋元明清玉器》，上海，2001年，圖版143。另一例藏於倫敦大英博物館，載於Jessica Rawson，《Chinese Jade. From the Neolithic to the Qing》，倫敦，1995年，圖版26:10，當中作者提及，早期犬形玉雕「或由渴望顯示狩獵技能者佩戴」，頁367。另一近例曾展於《Chinese Jades from Han to Ch’ing》，Asia House Gallery，紐約，1980年，編號38。一例錄於霍滿棠，《韞玉生輝：松竹堂珍藏玉器》，香港，2011年，圖版78。再一例來自熙墀收藏，曾展於敏求精舍展覽《中國玉雕》，香港藝術館，香港，1983年，編號135。還有一例曾展於《金木水火土──香港文物收藏精品展》，香港藝術館，香港，2002年。
