The jade hound is in overall good condition.

臥犬卷尾之玉雕饒有趣味,盛行於宋至清代歷朝;比較一例,出土自上海顧村,元朝朱守城夫婦墓,錄於《上海出土唐宋元明清玉器》,上海,2001年,圖版143。另一例藏於倫敦大英博物館,載於Jessica Rawson,《Chinese Jade. From the Neolithic to the Qing》,倫敦,1995年,圖版26:10,當中作者提及,早期犬形玉雕「或由渴望顯示狩獵技能者佩戴」,頁367。另一近例曾展於《Chinese Jades from Han to Ch’ing》,Asia House Gallery,紐約,1980年,編號38。一例錄於霍滿棠,《韞玉生輝:松竹堂珍藏玉器》,香港,2011年,圖版78。再一例來自熙墀收藏,曾展於敏求精舍展覽《中國玉雕》,香港藝術館,香港,1983年,編號135。還有一例曾展於《金木水火土──香港文物收藏精品展》,香港藝術館,香港,2002年。
