Condition
In good condition. The aquamarine is a medium deep very slightly greenish blue, eye clean with very minor surface wear in the form of nicks visible only under magnification. The diamonds are approximately G-I color, VS-SI clarity. The sapphires are well matched for color, a medium deep slightly violetish blue, lightly to moderately included with several exhibiting surface wear in the form of scratching and abrading to the facet junctions, not apparent when worn. Maker's mark inside the clasp. Highly flexible and well made. Accompanied by a photocopy of what is believed to be the original receipt from 1939, indicating that the piece was originally set with a large sapphire

是次上拍手鏈的設計，或以馬奇諾防線為靈感。第二次世界大戰期間，法軍於法國西北部建立防線，分隔自由法國及德國佔領區。防線以厚重混凝土牆為特徵，防線大多建於地下，外形彷似土墩。主建築以外，法軍更建立一排排「龍牙」，以抵禦德軍攻勢，外型正與鑲藍寶石的鏈節相似。與此手鏈設計相類的手鏈，可見於Mauboussin於1939年世界博覽會展覽櫥窗之照片中。這幅照片可見於Maguerite de Cerval著，《Mauboussin》，頁118。
