In 1966 Edward Bawden travelled to Iran as a guest of British Petroleum. He visited Isfahan and used material collected on the trip to make the mural diptych, Fantasy on Islamic Architecture, 1967, originally designed for Britannic House, the London headquarters of BP, and now at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London.
