Condition
The movement is running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time or duration of the power reserve and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Please note that Sotheby's does not guarantee the future working of the movement. Case in overall very good vintage condition with light scuffing, scratches and indentations consistent with age and use. Bezel with small and shallow indentations throughout the band. Some fading to the black text of the bezel. Light scuffing to the case bands. Chronograph function working properly. Dial in overall very good condition. Some loss to the luminescent dot at 3. Some very early signs of fading to the black subsidiary dials. Even and attractive coloring. Movement in excellent condition. Bracelet with scuffing and links are slightly loose. Bracelet is expandable.

Rolex originally introduced Ref. 6263 in 1971. To improve their cases' waterproof technology, the company made Ref. 6263/6265 with screw down pushers and a larger winding crown. The present lot has an exceptionally preserved dial and original acrylic bezel.
