本瓶釉色明凈透薄，釉下花卉紋飾自然寫意。本瓶口沿纖細，易經年月風霜損壞，本品卻保存良好，極為難得，釉面瑩潤，釉藥流淌紋飾凹凸之間及瓶口邊沿，濃淡變化，自然柔美。

本瓶器形複雜，始於北宋，如本品尺寸碩大、雕刻深邃之品，甚為罕見。比較一例，刻牡丹紋飾，圖見《世界陶瓷全集》，東京，1977年，卷12，圖版32；另一例尺寸稍大，瓶頸較短，載於康蕊君，《玫茵堂中國陶瓷》，倫敦，1994年，卷1，圖版608。

青白瓷，或曰影青，創於江西景德鎮饒州，釉色青白，映襯釉下刻花，相得益彰，以還原焰燒造，以木柴燒火。本瓶瓶足底部光素無釉，帶褐色印記，即源於此手法。
