The jade screen is in good condition but has a small chip to the top right corner. The zitan frame has a minor chip and split to its lower surface.

本屏精刻歲寒三友圖，寓意吉祥。歲寒三友，指松、竹、梅。松四季常綠、竹經年不凋、而梅率先百花於寒冬綻放，故喻堅忍氣節，亦喻長壽。最早記載出自宋林景熙（1241-1310年）著作，流行自元至清各朝。

比較一例，一面飾梅花山石，另一面繪詩文，售於香港蘇富比1991年4月30日，編號 315，後易手於 香港佳士得2007年5月29日，編號1385；永壽宮舊藏一組四屏作例，花卉紋飾，曾展於《玉緣：德安堂藏玉》，故宮博物院，北京，編號22，售於香港蘇富比2006年4月10日，編號1518。
