carved recumbent with its head turned sharply over its back, its feet tucked beneath and its finely incised wings folded to the side, with its young at its side, both grasping a single peach sprig between their beaks, perforated with two holes at the base, the stone of an even white colour, wood stand
Condition
The carving is in good condition with the exception of two nicks to the edges of two leaves. It should be noted that the stone is of a slightly cooler tone than the catalogue illustration would suggest.
