modelled on a section of bamboo-culm with corners forming low hoofed feet on the underside, the front carved in low-relief with three boys flying a kite in a garden, one boy controlling the kite as others look on, the underside carved in the round in high relief with the 'Eighteen Luohan', each animately holding his attribute with some riding various mythical animals

There is a tiny chip to the top edge, minor loss to the carving on the underside just above the upper-most figure and very minor brown stains to one side of the wrist rest.
