Both bowls are in very good condition with the exception of very minor glaze scratches.

本對盌細繪荷塘鴛鴦與鶴，取靈感自成化珍品，僅作細微修改，如鶴尾較長、花卉比例略變等。比較一例，關善明收藏，展於《晚清官窰瓷器》，香港中文大學文物館，1983年，編號31。另一對例圖見耿寶昌，《明清瓷器鑑定》，香港，1993年，圖版516；倫敦蘇富比1982年6月15日售一對例，編號386；再比兩例，售於香港蘇富比，其一售於1977年12月1日，編號36，其二售於1978年5月29日。

此類盌亦見於不施釉上彩之釉下青花器，台北故宮博物院收藏一例，曾展於《明成化瓷器特展》，台北，1976年，編號87；另一例曾展於《清瓷薈錦：香港藝術館藏清代陶瓷》，香港藝術館，1984年，編號97。

本盌原型，可參考台北故宮博物院收藏一例，成化年期並款，圖見《明成化瓷器特展》，前述出處，編號85。荷塘鴛鴦紋飾，復興於嘉靖年，後再為清乾隆帝青睞。道光年間，紋飾又復流行。鴛鴦成對，意寓連理之美，作婚慶賀禮，最是合宜。
