of square section with indented corners, the cover with a figure seated below a pine tree in a terraced garden, all against a floral diapered ground and finely incised undulating lines figuring the sky, the lobed tiers with a single continuous lotus scroll, the interior and base lacquered black, all supported on a short raised foot encircled by a chevron border

This tiered box is in reasonably good condition, but there is a U-shaped crack running across the bottom right corner of the cover, which then runs across the top of the sides and down to the bottom. There is also an approx. 2cm by 1.5cm repair to one corner of and two areas of repair to the rim of the third tier. There is also some re-lacquering to the interiors of each tier. There are also some more minor cracks, nicks and scratches to the sides throughout.
