one of hexagonal shape, centred with a scene of a fisherman at sea under a willow tree, framed by a circular cartouche against a diaper ground, with further diaper borders on the sides, the interior and base lacquered black; the second box of floral shape covered overall in geometrical patterns, the cover interior detailed with a small peach foliage, the base with an inscription fu, the interior and base lacquered black, two Japanese wood boxes
Condition
The hexagonal box is in good condition, but there is an area of repair/replacement of the mother of pearl inlay to the lower right section of the central roundel to the cover. The stars to each corner of the cover, may also be possibly replaced and the florets to the wave band to one side of the base.
The floral-shaped box is in good condition, but there are small areas of loss to the lacquer throughout. There are also scratches to the surfaces of the lacquer to the interior and the base.
