finely carved with rounded sides rising to a slightly everted rim, picked out with gold on the interior with a frontal-view five-clawed dragon in pursuit of a 'flaming pearl' above waves, with two pairs of dragons on the sides each confronting a 'flaming pearl' among cloud scrolls, the exterior outlined in gold with a band of lotus scrolls in between two lappet borders, with a keyfret border at the foot, the green stone with natural veining

There are some areas of restoration to the rim with some associated areas of re-gilding. There are also some minor areas of gilt loss throughout.

本玉盌頗為罕見。相近玉盌，多內外均飾描金龍紋。比較一例，乾隆年器並款，售於倫敦蘇富比1965年11月23日，編號205；倫敦佳士得1997年6月9日出售一對例，器口外撇，邊沿未飾蓮瓣紋，編號229；另比一例，出自Hunting Folger Deutsch收藏，售於紐約佳士得2003年3月26日，編號35。再比一例，內壁飾龍紋，外壁開光內繪鳥紋，現存於劍橋費茲威廉博物館，圖錄於林政升，《The Immortal Stone. Chinese Jades from the Neolithic Period to the Twentieth Century》，倫敦，2009年，圖版126（左上）。
